We\’re supporting a respected public sector organisation in the search for an experienced DevOps Engineer to drive improvements in automation, infrastructure, and software delivery.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in collaborative environments, working alongside development teams, operational IT staff, and other stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance development workflows through automation and CI/CD best practices
- Build and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles
- Support secure software delivery across multiple environments
- Improve deployment pipelines, version control, and test automation
- Troubleshoot system issues and proactively resolve technical blockers
- Ensure services remain highly available and compliant with security standards
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Python, Java, or similar development languages
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and information security fundamentals
- Previous experience in policing or wider public sector environments
- Confidence in supporting or mentoring junior team members
Security Requirements:
To be considered, candidates must already hold valid NPPV2 or NPPV3 clearance through Warwickshire Police.
