Data Careers is supporting a secure public sector organisation in the East Midlands in the search for an experienced Data Architect.

This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and delivering enterprise‑wide data architecture, maximizing the value of the organisation's data assets while supporting intelligence, operational decision‑making and strategic outcomes.

You will define the future direction of a modern cloud‑based data environment and work across technical and business teams to establish scalable, secure and sustainable data capabilities.

Security & Eligibility

Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must

  • Be UK‑based.
  • Have continuously resided in the UK for a minimum of five years.
  • Be eligible to obtain NPPV3 and SC clearance.
  • Existing police vetting, NPPV3 and/or SC clearance would be highly advantageous.

The Opportunity

You will lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture, shaping both current and future‑state data capabilities.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, engineers, analysts and operational teams, you will establish the data structures, governance frameworks and cloud architectures required to support a data‑driven organisation.

Hybrid working is available, with attendance in Lincolnshire typically expected around one day per week, although flexibility is available depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver enterprise data architecture strategy.
  • Design and implement scalable cloud‑based data architectures.
  • Lead data modelling, integration and governance initiatives.
  • Establish architecture standards and best practice.
  • Support Microsoft Fabric adoption and development.
  • Design data flows, storage models and integration frameworks.
  • Promote data quality, governance and security standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Support major transformation, migration and modernization programmes.
