Data Protection Officer

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £48,500

Location: Hybrid/Gloucestershire (2-3 days per week on site in Gloucestershire)

A leading Public Sector organisation is looking for a knowledgeable Data Protection Officer to provide authoritative guidance on Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Information Sharing. You will help the organisation meet its statutory obligations, respond effectively to information rights requests and strengthen information governance practices.

The Role

As the organisation\’s Data Protection Officer, you will:

• Provide authoritative advice on Data Protection, FOI and Information Sharing.
• Act as the organisation\’s main contact with the ICO, managing data breaches and maintaining breach logs.
• Interpret legislation and guide compliant information handling.
• Lead the Information Disclosure Team.
• Oversee FOI appeals and ensure high-quality disclosures.
• Support projects with Privacy Impact Assessments.
• Maintain and deliver DP and FOI training.
• Manage Data Processing Agreements with external partners
