We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join a technology-driven public sector organisation. This home-based role requires quarterly visits to the head office in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity for a DevOps professional to work within a talented technical team on impactful Government projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure seamless integration, delivery, and operation of services.
- Collaborate with technical architects to translate designs into operational solutions.
- Design and develop infrastructure as code, manage source code repositories, and build CI/CD pipelines for Cloud environments.
- Identify and coordinate integration opportunities between technologies to support organisational goals.
- Lead and support non-functional requirements including availability, security, capacity, and performance.
- Implement scalable, repeatable, and highly available deployment strategies.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- 2+ years in a DevOps Engineering role using the listed essential technologies.
- Expert-level experience with AWS Cloud technologies, CI/CD tools (Concourse, Jenkins, etc.), GitHub (source control and versioning), and Terraform.
- Strong experience with Ansible, Unix/Linux environments, and Python.
- Desired experience with Packer, Microservice and Serverless Architectures, and AWS Glue.
- Awareness of additional programming languages such as Java and Node.js.
Technical Skills Assessment:
Candidates will be evaluated on their proficiency in:
- Terraform
- AWS Cloud technology
- Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tooling
