Databricks is growing at an incredible pace, and our London hub is at the heart of our international expansion. We are looking for a Technical Accounting Manager to take functional ownership of our international entities. Reporting to the Director of International Accounting, this is a high-impact individual contributor role designed for a technical expert who can influence global teams and drive our statutory roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and quarterly goal-setting for the international statutory landscape, translating high-level corporate objectives into a prioritised roadmap for our finance teams.
- Drive the US GAAP to Local GAAP reconciliation process.
- Own the end-to-end statutory audit cycle for the portfolio, managing relationships with external auditors and ensuring the integrity of all disclosures.
- Review and approve financial statements for international subsidiaries, ensuring the integrity of all disclosures and technical accuracy.
- Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, and M&A to advise on the accounting implications of new market entries or complex international deals.
- Act as a subject matter expert for teams in other countries, helping them prioritise strategic work and de-prioritise non-essential tasks through data-driven insights.
- Identify Record-to-Report bottlenecks and lead automation efforts.
- Recommend and implement optimisations within the core tech stack (NetSuite, FloQast, and Zip) to ensure international operations can scale.
- Monitor existing and new accounting and regulatory policies to ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Create clear reporting and dashboards to track the progress of international filings, escalating risks or blockers to leadership when appropriate.
What We Look For
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
- Experience in the preparation, review, or audit of financial statements under US GAAP, FRS 102, and/or IFRS.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to manage the calendar of statutory filings and provide daily status updates.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory/statutory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven experience working across a global organisation, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams in different time zones and cultures.
- Experience and success in a hyper-growth environment, where flexibility and keenness for optimisation are key.
- A desire for accuracy and analytics with the ability to navigate ambiguity, identify risks, and drive solutions independently.
- Advanced GSuite and Excel skills (maintaining complex spreadsheets and employing complex formulas) alongside a strong working knowledge of modern accounting systems.
