Databricks is hiring a Director of International Communications to build and scale our global communications strategy. As Databricks grows its footprint, this role will own how that story gets told: new market entries, in-country investments, new offices, customer wins, and local business milestones that build Databricks' reputation market by market. This role will serve as a strategic communications advisor to regional and country leaders in Europe, Asia, and the Americas and will be responsible for the execution of communications programs across those regions. This is a strategic role: turning business momentum into locally resonant news that establishes Databricks as a leader in data and AI around the world.

What This Role Unlocks

  • Communications advisor to regional leaders – advise on PR, social, internal comms strategy
  • Regional news at scale — a dedicated strategy for translating business growth across Europe, Asia, and the Americas into press moments.
  • Local relevance, global consistency — an approach tailored to each region's media landscape while staying true to Databricks' global product and corporate narrative.
  • Strong in-market presence — deep relationships with regional leadership, agencies, and field teams.
  • Leadership for regional PR teams — a dedicated manager and mentor for our international communications leads while building close relationships with U.S. based comms and product leaders.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Own Databricks' international communications strategy across three regions: Europe, Asia, and the Americas (13 countries).
  • Spot and drive market-specific news — expansions, investments, new offices, customer milestones, and partnerships — that builds Databricks' profile in each country.
  • Evolve the communications strategy as the business scales into new and existing regions.

Regional Partnership

  • Serve as the connective tissue between global communications strategy and on-the-ground business momentum in every region.
  • Partner with regional business leaders, ensuring strategy reflects local business priorities.
  • Partner with field marketing and country managers to identify stories worth telling on the ground.

Team Leadership & Agency/Media Relationships

  • Manage and support Databricks' communications leads internationally; set clear direction and priorities while providing the autonomy to run their markets.
  • Manage PR agency relationships across all 13 covered markets.
  • Build direct relationships with key regional media so each market has the storytelling support it needs to land Databricks' news locally.

What We Look For

  • 12+ years of experience in international, regional, or global communications, ideally in enterprise software, cloud, or AI.
  • Proven track record building regional press strategies and driving coverage across multiple international markets.
  • Strong people management experience, with a track record of developing communications professionals across international teams.
  • Experience managing PR agencies across diverse regions and media landscapes.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with senior business leaders and field teams.
  • Sharp news judgement — able to spot and shape a story from business developments like market entries, customer wins, or new offices.
  • Comfort operating across time zones and cultures, balancing global consistency with local relevance.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
