As our Senior Backup Engineer, you’ll provide expert-level technical support, troubleshooting, and strategic guidance to our Backup-as-a-Service customers. You’ll ensure the highest level of system reliability, security, and performance while acting as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues.

The Role:
What You’ll Do Here:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop long-term solutions that strengthen our backup infrastructure.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks before they impact customer operations.
- Mentor and guide team members, helping them grow their technical capabilities.
- Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance our service delivery.
- Ensure seamless communication between technical teams and stakeholders.
- Serve as senior escalation expert for complex backup issues, providing expert troubleshooting while mentoring junior engineers to foster team-wide technical excellence.
- Own high-priority customer relationships as their trusted technical advisor, leading strategic engagements from risk assessments to capacity planning while liaising with senior stakeholders.
- Develop advanced troubleshooting processes and drive long-term solutions in collaboration with engineering teams, contributing to knowledge bases and best practice documentation.
- Lead complex infrastructure projects including migrations and upgrades, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Enhance operational efficiency through trend analysis, automation, and continuous service improvement, optimizing system performance and incident response times.

The ideal candidate will have:
- 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience including business/customer facing work.
- Commvault Certified Engineer is highly desirable.
- Experience with cross-platform integrations of Commvault with cloud services (Azure Backup, AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage).
- Experience in cybersecurity best practices related to data protection, ransomware mitigation, and compliance standards.
- Exposure to ITIL best practices and service management frameworks.
- Experience leading backup and disaster recovery projects, including migrations and large-scale implementations.
