The Role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Production Technology team. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the infrastructure that underpins our production platforms across data centre and public cloud environments. Linux and networking are central to our technology estate. You will take ownership of critical infrastructure services, troubleshoot complex issues, drive automation and operational improvements, and contribute to the design and evolution of our platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain production infrastructure across data centre and cloud environments.
- Design, build, and support Linux-based platforms and services.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and platform issues.
- Develop automation and Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Ansible and scripting languages.
- Support and enhance networking technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing.
- Manage virtualization and container platforms including VMware, Proxmox, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Lead infrastructure security initiatives including patching, vulnerability remediation, and platform hardening.
- Deliver infrastructure projects from design through implementation.
- Contribute to technology strategy, platform architecture, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong Linux administration and engineering experience in production environments.
- Platform design and implementation.
- OS lifecycle management.
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Security hardening.
- Automation and orchestration using Ansible or similar tools.
- Scripting with Bash, Python, or equivalent languages.
- Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices.
- Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and scripting using Bash or Python.
- Experience supporting virtualization and container platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, operating systems, and networks.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP).
- Knowledge of infrastructure security, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of modern networking technologies such as BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, Spine-Leaf, and MLAG.
- Experience with Proxmox and KVM.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.
