Department: Business Resilience
Reports to: Resilience Director
Salary :£45,000- £50,000
Location: Hybrid working (2 days/week in Battersea office)
Travel: Occasional UK-wide client visits

Overview
As a consultant within our Business Resilience team, you will participate in and supervise client engagement teams and other related activities. Engagements focus on the advisory services in development, implementation or assessment of the client’s resilience, crisis management and business continuity capability, strategies and solutions; including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of respective procedures. This also includes plan and conduct exercises to test the client’s adequacy of existing plans and strategies. You should be comfortable planning and organising scenario exercises involving a range of root causes, from reputational to cyber.
Responsibilities
- Work with nominated client business areas to develop and maintain necessary resilience programmes that address business continuity, recovery and emergency response management.
- Work with client resilience teams to develop effective working relationships and documented plans
- Liaise with key client teams to identify gaps, set recovery time objectives and determine business needs/expectations
- Develop client Business Resilience strategies, plans and challenge business leads on identification of critical functions and needs
- Design and outline Resilience goals, objectives and scope for business plans and Crisis Management Support and assist in the development of BCP planning and goals
- Support client top management in aligning all Business Resilience planning, initiatives and goals with organisational goals and Infrastructure capabilities
- Identify and make recommendations for solutions to obstacles and business challenges
- Develop and execute maintenance and testing programs for all Resilience plans
- Design and implement tests and exercises of client Resilience plans and response processes
- Provide regular feedback and reporting to clients' top management on the critical components and readiness of the business plans and supporting processes and infrastructure.
In addition, be prepared to:
- Facilitate and support the execution of client plans at the time of a BC invocation
- Support client major incident management team with critical components of the plan in order that the clients can make decisions in the event of an incident
Note the above is not on an on-call basis, rather best effort to support our clients at time of disaster.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience
The role is a entry-mid level role and we would expect our consultants to be able to demonstrate some of the following skills:
- Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI)
- 3 years + managing business continuity within a multi-site organization
- In-depth knowledge of Business Continuity Systems and Processes
- Experience of planning and facilitating Crisis Management Exercises with senior leadership teams
- Experience of planning and running BCP exercises with operational teams
- Experience of Disaster Recovery planning and testing with technology teams
- A breadth of experience in a multi-disciplinary environment in public or private sectors, managing high profile suppliers and stakeholders
- Experience of managing multiple work streams simultaneously
- Effective planning and organisational skills
- Stakeholder management skills at a senior/board level
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to build effective working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
