Our client is one of the world's top 20 investment companies headquartered in Great Britain. The organization is undergoing a major transformation, consolidating external and internal data sources into a unified ecosystem provided by an external vendor that aggregates all essential market, portfolio, and reference data.

We are looking for a Business Analyst with strong technical expertise and front-office domain knowledge from the buy-side (asset management). In this role, you will manage data queries from front-office stakeholders, capture and communicate requirements, and work with engineering and vendor counterparts to resolve issues and implement improvements. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with the expectation to visit the office in the City of London a couple of days per week. Working hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, aligned with London time.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with portfolio managers, traders, and product owners to clarify and document data and reporting requirements
  • Perform gap analysis and define requirements for implementing automated data quality and reconciliation checks
  • Prepare and maintain data mappings between internal systems and vendor platforms
  • Identify opportunities to improve front-office data workflows and enhance data consistency across the investment ecosystem

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in the asset management domain, ideally within front-office or portfolio management functions (CFA certification is a plus)
  • 3+ years of experience working on data-heavy projects involving large, complex datasets and multiple data formats
  • Understanding of the specifics of pricing and positions data
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Nice to have

  • Understanding of front-office asset management systems (e.g., BlackRock Aladdin or State Street's data platforms)
