Continued growth across Data Protection People has created a new opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join our sales team. This newly created Business Development Manager role will build on over a decade of helping organisations with data protection and cyber security.
The opportunity
You’ll own the sales process from first contact to closing, with clear commercial goals and responsibility for both inbound and outbound results. You’ll build your pipeline through outbound prospecting, inbound enquiries, marketing-generated leads (including our Data Protection Made Easy podcast) and re-engagement with lapsed leads and previous prospects. Established follow-up cadences, email templates, Salesforce and proposal tools will support your work.
About you
You have B2B sales experience, strong communication skills and the drive to win business. You’re organised, consistent with follow-up and ready to take ownership of your results. Experience in recruitment, data protection, cyber security or other B2B sales could make you a strong fit. You don’t need expertise in both service areas, as we’ll help you learn. Your first three months will include learning and shadowing with the team and Sales Manager, preparing you to manage your own pipeline independently.
What we offer
- ~£30,000–£35,000 basic salary, plus £15,000 commission at target and additional bonuses for exceeding target.
- ~20 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing by one day per year of service, up to 30 days plus bank holidays.
- ~ Pension scheme, BrightHR and wellbeing support.
- ~ Regular staff socials.
- ~ Career development in a growing business where previous sales colleagues have progressed quickly.
Working arrangements
You’ll work four days in our office at The Tannery, Kirkstall Road, Leeds, and one day from home each week. Hours are 9am–5pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Most meetings are remote, with occasional client visits and company events. This is a full-time role, moving to a permanent contract following successful completion of the probationary period.
