Job Description
As a kdb+ engineer, you will collaborate with business users to define new application requirements, develop, test, and maintain clean, performant code, support project delivery with PMs and senior developers, and work as part of a close-knit team to deliver solutions on time and on budget. You will also analyse large‑scale time‑series data, generate actionable reports, and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborating with business users to define new application requirements.
- Developing, testing, and maintaining clean, performant code for client applications.
- Supporting project delivery alongside Project Managers and senior developers.
- Working as part of a close-knit team to deliver solutions on time and on budget.
- Analysing large-scale time-series data and generating actionable reports.
- Mentoring junior developers and contributing to a culture of learning.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial kdb+ development experience.
- Solid understanding of q language and time-series data structures.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and the SDLC.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills.
- Prior experience of working in Capital Markets/Investment Banking/Consulting.
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Knowledge of Python, cloud platforms or other time-series databases.
- Exposure to project leadership or people management.
- Contribution to internal tools, documentation or community initiatives.
