Data Intellect is building a new, specialist Trade Surveillance team in Belfast, forming a key part of a rapidly expanding, high-growth practice area within the organisation. This team operates in a consulting-led model, delivering complex, mission-critical solutions for world leading global investment banks, hedge funds, regulators and exchanges.

As part of this, you will have the opportunity to work on international client engagements across New York, London, and APAC, gaining exposure to some of the most sophisticated financial technology environments in the world, with potential opportunities to travel. You will receive comprehensive training on a specialised trade surveillance product stack, enabling you to quickly develop deep expertise while working directly on client systems.

The role combines data engineering depth with client-facing responsibility, requiring individuals who can both solve complex technical challenges and operate effectively within enterprise stakeholder environments. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will act as a trusted technical consultant, bridging client infrastructure teams and internal engineering, and taking ownership of platform implementation, optimisation, and ongoing support.

  • Act as the technical lead between clients and engineering teams, delivering enterprise platform solutions
  • Deploy, manage, and optimise containerised applications using Kubernetes and Helm
  • Design scalable, secure infrastructure across on-prem and AWS environments using IaC tools
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, driving automation and release consistency
  • Administer Kubernetes clusters, managing orchestration, scaling, and performance
  • Implement monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to ensure system reliability
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, Kubernetes, and database issues with clear root cause analysis
  • Configure AWS networking and implement secure access (SSO, SSL/TLS, access controls)

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm
  • Solid AWS expertise and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
  • Proven CI/CD and automation experience
  • Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of storage (NFS/EFS), databases (PostgreSQL), and web servers (Nginx, Apache, Tomcat)
  • Experience with SSO and security (SAML, OIDC, Azure AD, Okta, Keycloak)
  • Scripting skills in Python and/or Bash
