The Manager of Financial Control & Governance represents a key part of the Wealth Management Europe (WME) Financial Control (FC) Team and is responsible for ensuring the end-to-end financial control framework that supports the production of an IFRS Compliant Balance Sheet and Income Statement. The role will be supporting the WME FC Team to uphold the highest standards in control and governance that underpin the control framework and to drive for continuous improvement of the control and governance environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contributing towards key controls processes across WME including SOX controls refresh, EUDA compliance, PAR process, NBC review and EIM Issues Management.
  • Make contributions to continuous improvement of the Financial Controls process, constantly challenging the way things are done to save time and improve the control environment.
  • Ensure key control reconciliations, Standards of Documentation (SoD) packages and PEGA attestations are produced, reviewed and signed off in line with policy.
  • Participate in monthly general ledger attestation review.
  • Contributing towards Internal and External audit deliverables.
  • Update documentation of process and procedures maintained in Confluence as required.
  • Ensure monitoring and resolution of all reconciliation breaks and review points by development and implementation of appropriate action plans with agreed timescales.

The marginal functions of this position have not been included and the responsibilities above are not the only duties to be performed. Will be required to perform any other job-related duties required by the Director, Financial Control.

  • Authority to manage, coach and mentor team, ensure consistency, accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Providing senior management with information to influence or enable decision making to mitigate or remediate risks and/or issues.
  • Authority to make recommendations within the respective governance frameworks and to own and drive initiatives to enhance the control environment of the CFO Europe Group.

Education &/or Experience

  • Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent.
  • Professionally qualified accountant.
  • Strong commercial acumen, knowledge and understanding of the key outputs and associated controls of the finance function, finance processes and Financial Services/banking processes.
  • Solid understanding of the control framework.
  • SOX audit knowledge.
  • Strong IT skills, and in particular advanced Excel is essential.
  • Able to converse with people at every level of an organisation.

  • Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA with undergraduate degree in quantitative field and suitable financial services work experience.
