About the role
As the product lead for this phase, you'll run discovery, define the product and own the scope of the first build phase. You'll translate how the business quotes, configures and fulfils orders into a clear product definition, a prioritised backlog, and a phased roadmap the build teams can deliver against.
Key responsibilities
- Lead onsite discovery with stakeholders across sales, design, operations and finance
- Map the current quote-to-cash (lead-to-cash) process end to end
- Elicit, structure and validate requirements, and define the scope of the first build phase
- Capture product configuration rules and bill-of-materials logic alongside domain experts
- Build and prioritise the product backlog (epics and user stories) for the first phase
- Shape the phased delivery roadmap with the solution architect and oversight lead
- Facilitate workshops, align stakeholders and drive timely decisions
- Define success measures and acceptance criteria for the first phase
Essential skills and experience
- Product management experience on quote-to-cash and CPQ (configure-price-quote) systems
- Background in manufacturing or an engineered / configurable-products environment
- Strong grasp of product configuration, bill-of-materials, pricing and order management
- Discovery, requirements elicitation and process mapping
- Backlog ownership, agile product delivery and roadmap definition
- Confident workshop facilitation and stakeholder management
- Comfortable working onsite and leading delivery hands-on
Desirable skills and experience
- Exposure to CPQ platforms such as Salesforce CPQ, Tacton or Configit
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Xero, and manufacturing platforms such as Katana, Odoo or MRPEasy
- Experience taking a product from discovery through to phased build
