- Ability to use or learn to use various types of light duty equipment such as:
- Cable measuring and cutting machines
- Cable labeling machines
- Curing ovens
- Connector polishing machines
- Visual inspection equipment
- Ability to use light duty hand tools for cutting, stripping, and mechanical assembly
- Fiber optic cable manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to read or learn to read engineering drawings.
- Ability to use or learn to use various forms of measurement and test equipment.
- Strong attention to detail is imperative.
- Ability to use or learn Microsoft Office is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally, depending upon position focus.
- Quality Assurance experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience with SAP Business One is a plus but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Share Point is a plus but not required.
- Previous fiber optic cabling experience is a plus but not required.
- Previous Opto Test/Viavi/JDSU fiber optic testing equipment experience is a plus but not required.

Summary
Ensure that materials and products received and shipped meet all customer and DCS quality requirements.
- Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout a large data center environment for extended periods of time.
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach to inspect equipment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspections, including identifying defects, labeling discrepancies, cable routing issues, and equipment.
- Ability to distinguish colors for cable identification, status indicators, safety markings, and quality verification activities.
- Ability to maintain visual focus on detailed work for prolonged periods.
- Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office / light manufacturing environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work on short notice.
