We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join a busy and technically focused engineering team delivering complex projects across the UK. This role offers exposure to challenging, non-standard engineering problems and the opportunity to work on bespoke structural and temporary works solutions that support critical project delivery.
The position is primarily office based in Redditch and would suit an engineer who enjoys hands-on design responsibility, problem solving, and working closely with project and engineering teams.
The Role
- Responsible for the design, checking and development of structural and temporary works solutions used to support complex engineering and installation activities.
- Producing and checking structural and temporary works designs, including calculations, drawings and design certificates.
- Carrying out structural analysis of existing structures and equipment to ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety requirements.
- Designing new structural solutions and modifications to existing designs where required.
- Producing detailed drawings suitable for manufacture and implementation.
- Supporting project costing and estimating by providing design input and technical information.
- Collaborating closely with engineers, project teams and other stakeholders to deliver safe, practical and efficient solutions.

Skills & Experience
- BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Typically 3+ years' experience in a structural or temporary works design role.
- Exposure to temporary works design and project-based engineering environments.
- Working knowledge of BS 5975 and experience with steelwork and timber design codes.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and CAD software (e.g. Tekla TEDDS, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD).
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it).
- Ability to support, coach or mentor junior engineers.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Full UK driving licence.
