Requirements

  • CCNP level knowledge (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong routing and switching experience (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, Qo S)
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls and VPN technologies
  • Wireless experience (Catalyst and/or Meraki desirable)
  • Confident troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Full UK driving license
  • Experience with network monitoring tools (e. g. PRTG, Wireshark, Net Flow)
  • Exposure to automation or scripting (Python, etc.) would be beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and document network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, wireless, and security
  • Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and associated technologies
  • Provide technical escalation and mentoring to junior engineers
  • Conduct network assessments and capacity planning
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and ensure minimal disruption
  • Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver successful projects
  • Participate in occasional out-of-hours work and on-call (typically every 6-8 weeks)

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on complex network solutions, takes ownership of delivery, and wants to continue developing their skills across modern networking technologies.

This is primarily an office-based role, with some home working flexibility at our head office in Worcester.

In this position, youll play a leading role in designing and delivering enterprise-level network solutions across a range of customer environments, ensuring that our designs meet customer requirements and industry best practices.

You will also act as an escalation point for the service team, support proof-of-concept designs, and contribute to technical discussions with both customers and internal stakeholders.
