About the Role We\’re seeking a
technically focused Unit4 Lead Consultant
to take ownership of complex solution design, development, and delivery for a leading IT consultancy. This role is hands-on-ideal for someone who thrives on solving technical challenges, building integrations, and optimising data-driven solutions within Unit4 ERP. You\’ll play a key role in defining technical strategy, developing custom extensions, reports, and integrations, and ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and high performing. You\’ll also provide technical direction and guidance to a small team, ensuring best practices and knowledge sharing across projects.
What You\’ll Do Design and build
advanced technical solutions
across Unit4 ERP, including reports, integrations, and extensions. Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications and data models. Develop and optimise
SQL queries and stored procedures
across T-SQL or PL/SQL environments. Build and maintain
REST and SOAP APIs , supporting seamless system integrations. Create and convert reports using
RERX, ARC, and Xtra , applying best practices for performance and maintainability. Use scripting (PowerShell, Liquid) to automate processes and streamline delivery. Conduct system testing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve complex technical issues. Support pre-sales and project scoping by advising on technical feasibility and effort estimation. Mentor and guide less experienced consultants in coding standards, integration design, and troubleshooting techniques.
Technical Skills & Experience In-depth experience with
Unit4 ERP technical architecture , datasets, and data dictionaries. Strong
SQL development
background (T-SQL or PL/SQL). Proven experience working with
Unit4 ERP integration routines and interfaces
(e.g., GL07, CS15, LG04). Proficiency with
web services technologies
(REST, SOAP), including JSON/XML and tools like Postman or SoapUI. Experience with
PowerShell scripting , Liquid Scripting, or similar automation tools. Understanding of
reporting frameworks
(RERX, ARC conversions, Xtra). Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues independently. Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
