We are looking to recruit a Director of Product Strategy & Portfolio for a leading software company on an initial 6 month contract. This is a senior strategic role responsible for defining enterprise-wide product vision, aligning product portfolios, and ensuring investment decisions deliver measurable customer and commercial outcomes.
Working closely with Product Directors, Engineering, and Go-To-Market leadership, you’ll build the strategic frameworks that guide how products evolve, innovate, and succeed across multiple markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate long-term product vision and enterprise product strategy
- Establish a unified strategic framework that aligns product direction across portfolios
- Lead strategic roadmap planning and guide prioritisation with Product Directors
- Drive market, customer, and competitive analysis to inform investment decisions
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on product positioning and long-term planning
- Build strong relationships across product, engineering, and commercial teams
- Develop business cases for major initiatives, including ROI modelling and market sizing
- Lead portfolio governance, prioritisation, and lifecycle management
- Champion data-driven decision-making and customer-centric product strategy
- Provide leadership, development, and direction to senior product managers and directors
Essential Experience
- Deep expertise in product strategy, product portfolio management, and market analysis
- Strong financial and commercial literacy, including P&L and ROI modelling
- Proven ability to create clarity across complex, multi-product environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience operating in enterprise software, public sector, or multi-market technology environments
