About the Role:

As a Change & Release Manager, you will play a key role in governing and coordinating all change and release activities across a large and complex IT estate. You will ensure changes are properly assessed, approved, and implemented with minimal disruption, while working closely with delivery and operations teams to continuously improve release processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of IT change and release activities in line with ITIL best practices.
  • Collaborate with service delivery teams, product owners, and third-party suppliers to coordinate effective releases.
  • Embed and evolve Enterprise Service Management (ESM) processes across the organisation.
  • Apply modern software development practices, including Agile, DevOps, and LEAN principles, to optimise release delivery.
  • Monitor and report on change success, risk mitigation, and compliance to governance standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Change and/or Release Management role within an IT service environment.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL change and release management principles.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Service Management (ESM) tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of Agile, DevOps or LEAN methodologies and their application in release planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Location and Working Pattern:

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site at one of the following locations: London, Blackpool, Durham, Glasgow.

Benefits:

  • £46,000 - £52,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28%.
