About the role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Digital Business Analyst to join a large, complex organisation undergoing significant technology and digital change. This is a varied role combining business analysis, stakeholder management, technology change and project delivery. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and business teams to understand strategic objectives, identify challenges and translate business needs into effective digital and technology solutions. You will play a key role in ensuring that technology services remain aligned with business requirements, while supporting the successful delivery of change initiatives and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
Engage with business leaders and stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges and technology requirements. Analyse, develop and document requirements for new systems and enhancements to existing solutions. Use appropriate business analysis techniques to capture, prioritise and validate requirements. Work collaboratively with technical teams and business users to ensure proposed solutions meet genuine business needs. Undertake business process analysis, modelling and improvement. Provide professional business analysis and technology consultancy throughout change projects. Support feasibility assessments, problem solving, decision making and solution design. Manage smaller technology projects where required, using appropriate project management and delivery methodologies. Work with internal teams and external suppliers to support planning, implementation, testing and successful delivery. Identify business benefits and contribute to post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement activity. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management. Communicate technology strategy, principles and best practice clearly to non-technical audiences. Investigate service delivery issues, identify appropriate solutions and support effective resolution. Contribute to procurement activity and the development of relevant tender documentation where required. Support the delivery of complex projects alongside project and delivery management colleagues. Ensure appropriate consideration is given to data protection, information security and organisational policies. Contribute to transformational improvements and demonstrable business benefits.
About you
We are looking for a methodical, analytical and commercially aware Business Analyst who is comfortable operating in a complex environment and influencing stakeholders at all levels. You will ideally have: Proven experience in business relationship and stakeholder management. Strong experience performing business analysis activities, including business systems and business process modelling. Experience gathering and documenting requirements for technical solutions. Knowledge of requirements prioritisation techniques such as MoSCoW. A good understanding of current and emerging digital technologies. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. An understanding of project management and planning principles. A structured and analytical approach to problem solving. Experience working with formal delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, DSDM or PRINCE2. Proven ability to influence senior and middle management in relation to technology change and digital projects. Experience investigating and resolving service delivery issues. The ability to translate complex business needs into practical technology solutions.
What you'll bring
You'll be someone who can operate confidently between business and technology teams, challenge constructively and build credibility with stakeholders. You should be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and taking ownership of requirements through to successful implementation. Experience of delivering business analysis within a large, complex or highly regulated organisation would be advantageous.
Additional requirements
The role may require travel to operational sites within the region, so candidates should be able to travel for business purposes. A full UK or European driving licence and access to a vehicle may be advantageous depending on business requirements.
