We are looking to recruit a Network & Infrastructure Consultant for a leading online retailer. This is a remote role with travel to my client's head office in Herefordshire once every 2 weeks. This is an exciting time to join my client as they are investing in its IT operations and delivering key technology projects. They are looking for an experienced Engineer to join their team, playing a critical role in designing and enhancing their IT infrastructure and network environment.

The Role

This is a hybrid network and infrastructure role, suited to an engineer with experience across both areas. The role will involve working as a technical lead on interesting IT projects coming up with solutions and designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This is a project focused role and you will be expected to contribute to roadmap sessions.
  • Provide 3rd line support across IT infrastructure and networks.
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot server, storage, and network infrastructure.
  • Support network operations (Juniper preferred, but Cisco/HP experience also considered).
  • Assist with the Windows 11 rollout and MDM implementation (Intune or System Center experience beneficial).
  • Work on identity management solutions, with Okta experience being advantageous.
  • Support and administer Google services (Gmail, Google Drive, and related tools).
  • Ensure all IT changes follow the change control process and are fully documented.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices within the IT team.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong background in networking and infrastructure.
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and WiFi networks.
  • Familiarity with Google services (Workspace tools such as Gmail, Google Drive, and collaboration tools).
  • Identity management experience (Okta is a plus).
  • Experience with backup, patching, and security solutions.
  • Project delivery experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Full UK driving license required.

Desirable Skills:

  • PowerShell scripting.
  • Linux administration.
  • SAN storage support.
  • Agile working methodologies.
