HR & Payroll Systems Specialist Permanent Location: Home / Liverpool (flexible working available) Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (+ benefits) Skills: Unit4 Business World / Agresso ERP (HR & Payroll modules), SQL – basic, excellent communication skills We are looking to recruit a HR & Payroll Systems Specialist for a leading organisation based in near Liverpool (Widnes). You will join their Application Support team, focusing on ERP and operational business systems – particularly the HR and Payroll modules within Agresso (Unit4 Business World). This is an exciting opportunity to support both day-to-day operations and ongoing project work, including upgrades and installations. You\’ll play a key role in supporting business-critical systems, helping the organisation get the most out of their HR and Payroll platforms. This is a hybrid role and you would be required to work on average on site once a month. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert support across the Agresso HR and Payroll modules. Investigate and resolve system issues related to payroll processes, workflow definitions, flexi tables, and distribution rules. Build and manage system alerts (ideally using SQL – basic read/write capability highly desirable). Develop and deliver reports using built-in reporting tools and browser-based interfaces. Support project delivery work, including system upgrades and new module installations. Work collaboratively with the wider Business Systems and IT Support teams, helping to triage and resolve tickets escalated from the service desk.About You: Strong experience working with ERP systems – Agresso (Unit4) experience is ideal, especially in HR and/or Payroll modules. Good understanding of payroll processes and common issues within HR systems. Familiarity with SQL – comfortable reading queries, and ideally able to write simple ones. Confident working on workflows, alerts, and system configurations. Experience supporting or delivering ERP upgrades or installations is a plus. A team player who is also comfortable working independently and picking up tasks with minimal supervision
