Quality Inspection Engineer

The Quality Inspection Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Abingdon‑On‑Thames, responsible for ensuring that components, prototypes, and assemblies meet Dash’s quality standards and customer specifications.

Day-to-day activities include performing detailed inspections of mechanical and composite parts, reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation, and conducting dimensional and visual checks using appropriate tools and equipment.

The role involves planning and executing test procedures, recording and analyzing inspection data, and preparing clear reports to support corrective and preventive actions.

The Quality Inspection Engineer collaborates closely with engineering, production, and programme management teams to resolve nonconformities, improve processes, and maintain compliance with relevant industry standards.

This position also supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, recommending enhancements to inspection methods, and contributing to quality audits.

Qualifications

  • Strong Quality Control and Inspection skills, including experience with measurement tools, inspection equipment, and documentation of results.
  • Foundational Mechanical Engineering knowledge applied to components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to testing and inspecting electrical or electromechanical systems.
  • Hands‑on Testing experience, including execution of test plans, validation of performance criteria, and reporting of findings.
  • Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally within aerospace, automotive, defense, or motorsport sectors.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications; familiarity with GD&T is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Relevant technical qualification or degree in engineering, quality, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
