ARAG UK has an excellent opportunity for a Risk Officer to join our Risk Management department in Bristol on a 12-14 month secondment basis.
Responsibilities
- Playing a key role in supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of ARAG UK’s risk framework.
- Work closely with the Risk Manager(s), risk team, and wider business to help identify, assess, and monitor key risks across all business areas.
- Provide risk assurance and constructive challenge to ensure controls are in place and operating effectively.
- Contribute to strategic planning and operational decision-making, helping to build a risk-aware culture in a supportive and engaged business.
- Deliver focused risk oversight in specific areas.
- Comfortable applying modern best practice in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
- Review and challenge the business’ management of key risk types.
- Support confident commercial decision-making through First Line risk identification, measurement, management, monitoring, and reporting processes.
- Support colleagues to identify, assess, and manage risk events within their business.
- Build relationships across the risk team and the wider business through ongoing engagement, support, and collaboration.
Qualifications
- A qualification in risk management would be advantageous; however, we are also open to supporting candidates who are developing their career within risk.
- Prior experience in overseeing and running day‑to‑day risk management processes and materials; e.g. risk registers, risk reporting, risk event triage, etc.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Able to engage stakeholders early and help shape decision‑making.
