We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated colleague to join us as a Legal Assistant Team Leader, leading our Legal Assistant team within the legal departments. In this role, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the team, ensuring high‑quality support is provided to the wider legal function. You will play a key role in driving performance, developing capability, and ensuring work is delivered accurately and efficiently in a regulated legal environment. Key Responsibilities
- Leading, mentoring and supporting the Legal Assistant team to deliver excellent customer outcomes and build skills and capability
- Managing performance, absence and development in line with company and SRA requirements
- Building positive, open relationships that encourage engagement and development
- Contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing management culture
- Supporting the delivery of change initiatives and helping the team adapt confidently
- Working closely with legal departments and internal stakeholders to meet service requirements
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
- Monitoring performance using MI and supporting improvement actions
- Partnering with the Operational Principal Associate on MI, process improvement and operational initiatives
Qualifications
- A strong customer‑focused approach and commitment to delivering high‑quality service
- Experience supporting or leading others (formal line management experience is helpful but not essential)
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- A strong communication skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels across ARAGA
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify risks or issues and elevate appropriately
- An interest in using MI to understand performance and support improvements
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and general systems
- An interest in legal or regulated environments (experience in an SRA‑regulated setting is desirable but not essential)
