We are continuing to invest in and grow our Legal Advice Service and, as a result, we are looking for a Legal Advice Team Leader to join us in our Bristol office.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of Legal Advisors who provide expert legal guidance and support to our commercial and personal customers.

As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in creating a high performing, customer-focused environment, ensuring your team has the skills, knowledge and support to deliver outstanding service and positive customer outcomes every day.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, coaching and development of your team, helping colleagues perform at their best while fostering a culture of engagement, accountability and continuous improvement.

Working closely with colleagues across Legal Services and the wider business, you will help drive operational excellence, identify opportunities to improve the customer journey and contribute to the ongoing development of our Legal Advice Service.

Other key responsibilities will include

  • Developing and motivating your team by holding effective 1:1's, coaching sessions and taking referrals.
  • Proactively recognising patterns in the frustrations or hopes of our customers, seeing where we can change and improve our processes, tools, or products to serve them better.
  • Supporting excellent quality claims referrals and ensure that the team is adequately trained on relevant policy stipulations.
  • Actively looking for ways to improve the customer journey and the services we provide.
  • Understanding, prioritising and escalating customers' feedback and requests to the wider ARAG business.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) regulations and statutory obligations.
  • Keeping abreast of any regulatory changes or legal updates that may be relevant to the Legal Advice Service.

We are looking for an engaging and people-focused leader who is passionate about delivering excellent customer outcomes and developing high-performing teams.

You may already have experience managing professional teams, or you may be an experienced Legal Advisor, Solicitor or legal professional looking to take the next step into a leadership role.

In either case, you will have the ability to inspire others, drive performance and create an environment where people can thrive.

You will be highly organised, commercially aware and customer focused, with strong communication skills and the confidence to influence, coach and support others.

You wi ll enjoy working collaboratively, solving problems and driving positive change.

Other key requirements include

  • A legal qualification such as Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential).
  • A strong understanding of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) requirements and professional standards.
  • Experience delivering improvements in customer service, customer outcomes or operational performance.
  • The ability to coach, develop and motivate individuals with varying levels of experience.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of driving change and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
  • Technical legal advice knowledge and experience is desirable.
  • Previous people management or leadership experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Due to the nature of the role, it's important that you can demonstrate a high level of empathy, sound judgement and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders and customers.
