ARAG UK, a market-leading insurance and legal services provider, has an exciting new opportunity for a Data Scientist to join us in our Information Management Team, based in our Bristol offices.
Responsibilities
- Leverage best practices to explore data, formulate hypotheses, analyse results, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Work directly with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver insights that drive business decisions.
- Mentor junior team members to help them develop their skills and grow professionally.
- Utilise advanced analytics, predictive analytics, and machine learning capabilities, with awareness of contemporary technologies and techniques, including AI.
- Creating and maintaining data visualizations to support business insights, and developing and implementing advanced analytics solutions to meet business needs.
- Managing tasks from inception to completion, collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring effective communication and workflow management to deliver accurate content aligned with requirements.
- Identifying potential risks in design and delivery, suggesting mitigating actions, and detecting and escalating any data issues encountered during daily activities.
Requirements
- Experience as a Data Scientist with advanced proficiency in Python, R, and SQL Server.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with enthusiasm to learn and a true passion for data and information.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills; experience in advanced analytics, predictive analytics, and machine learning.
- Good communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to inspire trust, influence, and communicate information clearly and commercially to different audiences.
- Broad awareness of contemporary technologies and techniques, including AI.
- Experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry is preferable but not essential.
