The department manages all aspects of employment law, from advising employees on unfair dismissal claims or unpaid wages to defending whistleblowing and discrimination claims on behalf of respondents. They also provide advisory HR services, such as drafting contracts and policies, and guiding businesses through employment law complexities. About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join the Employment team in the Private Client team, on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will handle a variety of private client employment work, from initial referral to conclusion. This includes non-contentious work like advising on settlement agreement terms, drafting and negotiating settlement agreements, employment contracts, and policies. You will also support drafting and reviewing letters for employers and employees, advising on employment processes, assisting with ACAS early conciliation, and handling private litigation cases. We promote a culture of effective and efficient case handling, ensuring our clients receive high-quality service. You will adhere to regulatory and company processes, considering cost aspects. This role offers a great opportunity to build your profile within a department with extensive experience, strong support, and development opportunities. This is a hybrid role – minimum 2 days per week in the office. You can work full-time or part-time (4 days or equivalent hours), based in Bristol City Centre or Bedwas, South Wales. We are looking for candidates with experience in Employment Litigation and the following: Previous experience in contentious and non-contentious employment work Good knowledge of Employment Law and procedures Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal Experience or interest in business development Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, KPIs, and SLAs Proactive caseload management Understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct Strong client care skills and collaborative approach If you are interested in joining our exciting future, we would love to hear from you!
