ARAG Law are seeking an Associate to join our growing Contract Disputes team within our Volume Litigation Department. As part of the Wider ARAG UK Group, which includes our market-leading Legal Expenses Insurance provision, ARAG Law enjoys a steady stream of varied and interesting work into the firm.
This role is for a fixed term 12-month contract and will be based out of our Bristol office on a hybrid basis.
As an Associate in the Contract Disputes team, you will be responsible formanaging a case load in your area of expertise.You willhave experience managing cases in a commercial manner either through the courts and litigation or the use of mediation and other ADR techniques.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Managing a caseloadofcases in line with expectations ensuringdisputesare resolved in a commercial manner via courts, mediation or ADRtechniques.
- Ensure cases aremanaged in a cost effective manner bymaintaining grip on cost at alltimes.
- Drive a culture of effective and efficient case handling, whilst maintaining a focus on the good customer outcome for each individual client;
- Working with othersto deliver on SLA’s, KPI’s, financial and performance targets as set by the Head of Departmentto drive efficiency, performance, billing and throughput within theteam.
- Utilise management information and work closely with other members of the team to achieve the departmental objectives;
- Ensure the early assessment of the prospects of success of each claim and that the claim is handled throughout in accordance with the requirements of our client’s legal expenses insurance policy.
- Share knowledge and best practice with team members andsupport junior employees in theirdevelopment.
- Support any change activities in yourarea.
- Review existing processes and, where appropriate, make recommendations for improvement;
Experience and knowledge of contract law and civil procedure is essential, including experience of running Fast Track value cases Articulate and confident in client care with an ability to embrace a changing environment in a new kind of law firmExcellent client care skillsAbility to act on their own initiative and knowing when to seek assistanceCompetent at adapting style to communication needFamiliar with SRA standards and obligations
