The consultant will support projects at various phases by conducting studies.

Responsibilities

  • Create and validate EMT and RMS models for relevant assets (e.g., WTG, PPC, STATCOM, as applicable).
  • Plan and execute design and Grid Code compliance studies, including small disturbances and fault scenarios.
  • Draft clear, audit‑ready technical documentation for internal review and external compliance; contribute to grid‑connection workstreams.
  • Interface with OEMs on model provisioning, validation, and parameterization.
  • Summarize findings and recommend mitigations, ensuring quality in line with Client standards across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (BEng/MSc/PhD) or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years hands‑on experience with PSCAD for EMT studies, including applicable add‑ons and analysis modules, plus required experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory covering steady‑state and RMS analyses.
  • Experience working with vendor models and parameterization for compliance.
  • Scripting/automation skills for workflows and post‑processing.
  • Experience coordinating with OEMs for model delivery, validation, and updates; strong data confidentiality practices.
  • Strong communication skills; able to produce clear reports and stakeholder materials.
  • Ability to work independently while following client established methodologies, documentation standards, and QA processes.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with National Grid ESO EMT guidelines and evidence requirements.
  • Experience with grid‑forming controls or advanced STATCOM functionalities.
