Would you like to shape the batch architecture of a complex pharmaceutical/chemical production environment using SIMATIC Batch and ISA-88 standards? Are you interested in leading the design of scalable, reusable batch structures that will be used across multiple production lines and future projects? Would you like to act as the technical authority guiding engineers and defining best-practice batch standards in a high-impact automation program?

Our client is currently entering a critical phase of their automation program where batch architecture needs to be standardized across multiple process units. The main challenge will be establishing a robust ISA-88 aligned structure that enables scalability, maintainability, and recipe-driven production across future expansions. You will play a key role in defining the architectural foundation that other engineers will build upon.

I'm looking for someone who:

  • Extensive experience with Siemens PCS7
  • Strong expertise in SIMATIC Batch
  • Proven experience designing ISA-88 batch architectures
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or chemical batch environments
  • Ability to design Process Cells, Units, Equipment Modules, and Control Modules
  • Strong understanding of recipe-driven automation concepts
  • Experience acting as Batch Architect, Lead Engineer, or Technical Authority
  • Experience working in GMP or regulated environments
  • Ability to define standards, templates, and reusable module concepts

Who is interested in:

  • Designing and defining batch architecture for large-scale process automation projects
  • Structuring procedures, operations, and phases in SIMATIC Batch
  • Defining ISA-88 process models and batch hierarchy
  • Designing reusable equipment modules and control modules
  • Reviewing and guiding engineering teams on batch implementation
  • Ensuring standardization, maintainability, and scalability of batch systems
  • Supporting engineers with complex batch integration and recipe challenges
  • Collaborating with process engineers and project stakeholders

For a company who:

  • Works on large-scale industrial automation programs
  • Invests heavily in modernizing and standardizing batch production systems
  • Operates in highly regulated production environments
  • Offers technically challenging projects with long-term impact
  • Values engineering expertise and architectural ownership
