The Practice has 7 Partners and 10 Salaried GPs along with Advanced Care Practitioners, an urgent care team including Nurse Practitioners, Primary Care Practitioners, a Mental Health Nurse and a pharmacy team of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. We work across 3 branches, providing care for over 24,000 and use EMIS Web, EPS, Docman10 and Accurx.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Usual sessions consist of a mix of face-to-face and telephone consultations.
  • The rota is arranged so that one GP is on call each morning and afternoon.
  • A second GP is primarily responsible for visits each morning.
  • Patients are given a choice of selecting face-to-face or telephone at the time that they book their appointment.

About us: Although we are a large team of over 100 staff working across 3 sites, the Partners consider it important to maintain a supportive team ethos. All clinicians are supported to develop personal interests and as a result, we have excellent links with the RCGP, academia, local practice networks and the ICB. We are an advanced training practice taking trainees, medical students and international scholars.

Key financial benefits that the practice offers include:

  • Reimbursement of indemnity costs related to the sessions worked at the practice.
  • 6 weeks of annual leave, 2 weeks of additional leave to cover bank holidays, 1 week of study leave (currently under discussion as this may increase to 2 weeks).

Job responsibilities include:

  • Providing a full range of general medical services which will include domiciliary visits as deemed appropriate.
  • Encouragement to utilise and develop any skills for the improvement of services to patients.

Clinical Duties:

  • A Salaried GP session is defined as 4 hours 10 min, including 2.5-3 hours of patient-facing clinical time.
  • Appointments are scheduled at 10-15 minute intervals.
  • As a Bank Salaried GP, you will be responsible for the administrative workload of the person that you are covering.

Group and Continual Professional Development:

We value continual professional development and professionalism and create time for peer support. The practice is a training practice and you will be expected to provide appropriate support for any students or trainees in the Practice.
