Job Description
Location: White Cross
Job Title: Lifeguard
Reports to: Leisure Manager
Role
As part of a team to assist in the safe and effective operation of the leisure/pool complex.
Main Tasks
- Continuous observation of swimmers and spectators
- Check plant and carry out pool water tests four times daily if required
- Frequent checking of all areas, and action as necessary to maintain hygiene, cleanliness, safety and standards of presentation.
- Undergo/deliver training as required
- Administer first aid treatment and record any accident or incident
- Check and record passes of all swimmers and spectators to ensure they are bonafide members
- Issue locker keys where applicable
- Organisation of leisure activities, entertainment and instruction as required
- Retail and replenish any sun bed tokens or drinks/dispensers
- Always behave in a polite and courteous manner so as to be an ambassador for the company
- To be aware and apply the provisions of the employee handbook
- Personal appearance at all times to be in accordance with company standards
- To have an understanding and awareness of all products and facilities offered by the company
- Understand and comply with health & safety requirements applicable to your role
- To be aware of and apply the provisions of the standard operational procedures for your department
- Comply promptly with personnel and payroll procedures
About The Role
Key results/responsibilities
- Maintenance of pool safety
- Maintenance of water quality
- To monitor and record both the pool bather and spectator numbers in order not to exceed the maximum permitted numbers
- Monitor the behaviour of all swimmers and spectators and ensure that all pool rules are maintained and adhered to
- To ensure cleanliness of all areas and ensure that any complaints are passed to your supervisor immediately
- Identify opportunities to improve the standards of both service and presentation of the park
- To ensure the highest possible standard of customer care
- To ensure that any complaints are dealt with immediately
- Not to bring the company into disrepute
- To be dressed and presented appropriately to your role at all times
- To deal effectively with customer enquiries as to products and services
- To act at all times in accordance with company procedures and standards
- To carry out your duties in a manner that ensures the safest environment for colleagues and guests alike
- To ensure the appropriate training and development of individuals and teams
