Dartmouth Partners are excited to be working with a leading investment firm to find an Assistant Financial Accountant. You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in month-end processes, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. This role is ideal for someone studying towards an accounting qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger and journal entries with accuracy and timeliness.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Help prepare financial statements and management accounts.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and investment transactions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
- Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
- Prepare VAT returns and support tax filing processes.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting projects as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Studying toward an accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- 0–2 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar; familiarity with investment accounting platforms is a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
