We’re partnering with a leading mid-market private equity investor to hire a hands-on Technology Director to sit within the investment team and work across its infrastructure portfolio. The Technology Director will partner with investment and management teams to define technology strategies aligned to value creation plans. Technology is a core driver of value creation across the portfolio, playing a critical role in improving operational performance, enabling scalability, and maximising enterprise value at exit.
The Role
- Assess technology maturity and develop pragmatic, executable transformation roadmaps
- Translate strategy into structured delivery programmes with clear workstreams, sequencing, and governance
- Advise on build vs buy, vendor selection, operating models, and investment priorities
- Lead and support key initiatives including ERP, CRM, core business systems, data, and integrations
- Provide hands-on guidance through implementation, helping teams avoid common pitfalls and accelerate delivery
- Build internal capability, governance, and leadership within portfolio companies
- Ensure technology investments drive EBITDA growth, scalability, and exit readiness
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience working with Private Equity-backed businesses
- Exposure to infrastructure, energy, or asset-heavy sectors preferred
- Proven track record delivering hands-on systems implementations (ERP, CRM, integrations)
- Background in consulting, architecture, or engineering
- Commercially minded with strong judgement on ROI and value creation trade-offs
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused operator who stays close to execution
