A private equity-backed services platform is seeking an M&A Director to lead its buy-and-build acquisition strategy. Backed by a leading PE investor, the business is executing an ambitious consolidation strategy in the UK lower mid-market, with a clear mandate to scale through acquisitions. Working closely with the platform leadership and investors, you will originate, execute and integrate transactions that drive the platform’s growth. This is an opportunity to join a high-growth platform at a formative stage, playing a central role in building a scaled services group through M&A.

The Role

  • You will lead the platform’s inorganic growth strategy, owning the full M&A lifecycle - from origination and deal execution through to integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the platform’s buy-and-build M&A strategy
  • Originate and execute lower mid-market acquisitions
  • Manage the full deal lifecycle: sourcing, valuation, negotiation, diligence and completion
  • Work closely with ELT and PE investors on acquisition strategy
  • Coordinate external advisors across diligence and execution

Candidate Profile

  • Essential: in-house Corporate Development experience within a PE-backed business
  • Essential: Proven track record executing acquisitions in the lower mid-market
  • ACA qualified with a background in Big 4 Corporate Finance prior to moving in-house
  • Experience in B2B services sectors strongly advantageous
  • Commercial, hands-on and comfortable operating in a fast-paced buy-and-build environment
