Dartmouth Partners are working with a global infrastructure fund manager in their search for an Investment Associate, for the Office of the Chief Investment Officer. The Office of the Chief Investment Officer ("CIO") has the critical responsibility within the firm for overseeing investment decision-making and portfolio construction processes to promote the success of the firm’s investment strategy. Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investment Associate to join our office of the CIO.

The role offers the successful candidate unparalleled exposure to the entire life-cycle of all private equity investments contemplated and undertaken by the funds advised by the firm, through opportunity evaluation, investment execution, portfolio company ownership and ultimate realisation. This involves working closely with the CIO and the Investment Committee ("IC") and interaction with executives across all functions of the firm as well as management teams of portfolio companies.

The candidate’s responsibilities are likely to be in the following areas:

  • Work closely with the CIO and IC to set investment strategy, co-ordinate investment decision-making processes and manage the investment pipeline through the investment execution life cycle.
  • Analyse and evaluate investment opportunities presented to the IC, including IC memos, sector research, due diligence reports and investment models.
  • Co-ordinate oversight of portfolio companies by the IC and the Portfolio Management Committee ("PMC") through the period of business ownership including 100-day plans, quarterly monitoring and periodic strategy reviews.

The ideal candidate will satisfy the following criteria:

  • Up to 7 years infrastructure direct or co-investment experience in a Fund of Funds, Pension Fund or Sovereign Wealth Fund.
  • Excellent academic record from a leading university.
  • Degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, engineering, maths, sciences or other quantitative field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
  • The candidate should be based in London.
  • Demonstrated self-leadership ability, initiative, a willingness to learn and strong work ethic.
