Dartmoor National Park Authority works in partnership with local and national stakeholders to conserve and enhance Dartmoor as a vibrant, living, working landscape and community teeming with natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage. We promote opportunities for the public to understand and enjoy the special qualities of Dartmoor National Park, whilst also promoting the economic and social wellbeing of local communities.
We are now looking for a part-time Temporary Information Adviser to join our team on a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2026, working a total of 422 hours for the contract period (maximum 16 shifts per month in summer).
The post holder/s will assist in the day-to-day, efficient and effective operation of the National Park Visitor Centres at Haytor and Postbridge and provide support as part of the Visitor team. This will include assisting the public to understand and enjoy the area through providing a positive welcome and advice service tailored to individual needs.

About You
The work is varied and requires a good knowledge of the Dartmoor area. You must be a confident communicator and able to deal with enquiries from the public in person, by telephone and email in a friendly, outgoing manner. The role involves selling the range of publications and other items available at our Visitor Centres. A working knowledge of using computerised tills would be an advantage. Some weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required. The post is based at the Visitor Centre at Haytor, but you may be required to work at the other Visitor Centre on occasions.
