Dartmoor National Park Authority works in partnership with local and national stakeholders to conserve and enhance Dartmoor as a vibrant, living, working landscape and community teeming with natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage. We are now looking for two Business Support Officers to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. However, we also welcome applications to these positions on a part-time basis to attract the best possible candidates.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an administrator with great customer focus to take their next step and join our organisation, providing support to our teams and stakeholders.

The Role

As a Business Support Officer, you will help deliver an effective and reliable business support service, providing administrative support to colleagues across the Authority. Joining a small, busy team, you will be the first point of contact for enquiries by telephone, email and in person, dealing with these professionally and efficiently. You will assist with preparing agendas, minute taking, processing incoming and outgoing mail as well as organising meetings and events, providing hospitality as required. You will also provide secretarial and administrative support, when required, to the Chief Executive (National Park Officer) and Leadership Team. You will assist with website support, as well as maintaining and updating the corporate contacts database. You will provide administrative support to externally funded projects (e.g. Dartmoor’s Dynamic Landscapes) and other key projects/programmes. You will also assist in the collection, collating, recording, and reporting of performance management data.

About You

To join us as a Business Support Officer, you will need:

  • Experience of working within an office/administrative environment
  • Experience preparing agendas, reports and minute taking
  • Reception experience and/or providing of excellent customer service
  • Excellent IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience in document management systems, databases, spreadsheets and information management
  • Numeracy and literacy to GCSE level (A-C/ Level 4 and above)
  • An ECDL and/or CLAIT qualification or equivalent qualification/experience
