Marina / Boatyard Operative Kingswear, Devon Who will I be working for? Darthaven Marina is located in the stunning South Hams countryside, surrounded by rolling hills and in a truly tranquil setting. Our impressive 270 berth marina has grown over the past 30 years, and we continue to pride ourselves on the first-class service we provide to our berth holders, visitors and customers. We’re currently looking for a full-time Marina / Boatyard Operative to join us in Kingswear and enhance our dedicated, customer-focused team. What are the benefits? - Salary range of £27,000 to £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience - 33 days’ holiday per year, including bank holidays - Pension - Branded company clothing - Stunning working location - On-site parking This is an exciting and varied opportunity for a hard-working individual to take on a practical role at our busy Marina. As a Marina / Boatyard Operative, you will handle, lift, launch and pressure-wash boats. Working outside, in all weathers, you will also help to maintain our site and interact with our customers in this active, variable role. Once you have satisfactorily completed the appropriate training, you will also drive the forklift and travel hoist. What’s more, we’ll provide other comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure you can make a success of your role, including first aid and health and safety training, as well as supporting you to gain professional qualifications that are recognised all over the world. As a Marina / Boatyard Operative, you will be handling very valuable vessels.  You will also be in constant communication with boat owners and the general public, providing information and ensuring all our customers are supported courteously. This role will see you involved in the following: - Boat movements afloat and ashore - Collecting and returning vessels from/to their berths - Pressure washing of hulls - Use of forklift/travel hoist - Use of company work boats for towing, etc. - Assisting our Marina users in person - Maintaining the presentation of the pontoons and marina - Resolving general enquiries and reporting any incidents This role will involve significant physical activity, lifting, carrying, working on damp and wet surfaces, including pontoons, handling large boats and using equipment such as an industrial pressure washer. What do I need? To be considered as the Marina / Boatyard Operative, you will need: - A can-do attitude - A willingness to learn - To be well-presented - A friendly, positive outlook - Full UK driving licence Any marine or maritime knowledge would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
