Overview

The Paediatric Diabetes Support Worker Administrator provides administrative and clinical support to the Paediatric and Transition Diabetes Specialist Nurses at Darent Valley Hospital. The workload is spread across Paediatric and Transitional Diabetes care services. The role requires independent working following agreed guidelines and prioritisation of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the coordinator with administration of the paediatric and transition diabetes service.
• Use dedicated systems to manage patient appointments and maintain patient records; collect data for Best Practice Tariff and audit purposes.
• Provide a comprehensive, confidential and high quality administrative and clinical support service to the Paediatric and Transition Diabetes Specialist Nurses.
• Manage telephone and face to face contact with patients in a clinical environment, including contact in school and home environments as required.
• Prioritise workload and work independently following agreed guidelines within Diabetes Services.
• Contribute to business planning and progression of the Paediatric and Transition Diabetes services and implement service improvement.
