Responsibilities

  • Write and publish digital content to go out on Dartford Borough Council’s website(s)
  • Work with services to update and create new written web content
  • Ensure web content is consistent with our style guide and up to date
  • Fix and monitor web content accessibility issues
  • Analyse analytics to identify improvements to the website(s)
  • Advise on accessibility for new projects
  • Engaging with customers and stakeholders and sharing their feedback
  • Exploring and reporting on potential improvements to the website and other digital channels
  • Become the Council’s main contact to external services to oversee technical changes and improvements
  • Assist with the implementation of web forms

Essential experience and knowledge

  • Expert knowledge of industry accessibility standards, i.e Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Experienced use of different content management systems.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA.
  • Understanding Universal Design principles.

Desirable

  • Experience with Jadu CMS is useful, but not essential.
  • Experience with assistive technologies, like screenreaders.
