Sunny has an immediate opening for a Payroll Officer to join a major regional organisation. We need a detail-oriented professional to ensure the timely delivery of salaries and expenses while navigating complex statutory pension regulations.
Responsibilities- Ensure all payroll activities strictly follow financial regulations and internal standing orders.
- Oversee and participate in payroll processing, performing regular spot checks to guarantee accuracy in calculations and coding.
- Manage staff movements (promotions/grade changes) within the PeopleXD system, collaborating with HR to ensure precise payments and budget allocation.
- Guarantee all payroll data complies with current UK legislation for 100% accurate employee payments.
- Maintain up-to-date records for statutory absences, adjusting pay in line with both legal and occupational requirements.
- You’ll be highly organised with a proven ability to prioritise high-volume workloads under strict time constraints.
- You’ll thrive in fast-paced environments, consistently delivering accurate results against demanding weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Substantial experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally within a large-scale or public sector environment.
- Solid understanding of statutory pension schemes (Local Government or similar "uniformed" schemes is a major plus).
- Fully conversant in current PAYE, National Insurance, and GDPR regulations.
