Job Summary
Perform a generalist HR role for site‑based operations and support functions. Work across teams and functions to deliver advice to employees and managers on policies and processes. Provide insight to management utilising HRIS data tools and metrics. Perform effective systems administration across HR initiatives, and facilitate formal HR meetings across a variety of employment predicaments from conduct, absence, performance & flexible working. Own the end‑to‑end recruitment process and ensure accurate payroll administration. Work with the Site HR Manager to continuously improve and develop the HR function, ensuring emphasis is applied to building an engaging environment for all employees and workers.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Onboarding (Ownership)
- Own the full recruitment lifecycle for agency and non‑agency roles, including job advertising, candidate sourcing, interview coordination, and offer management.
- Ensure compliance with right‑to‑work checks and security vetting protocols.
- Manage onboarding activities, including offer letters, contracts, and induction paperwork.
- HR Administration & Systems
- Support systems administration, including Time & Attendance and employee data housekeeping.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with GDPR.
- Generate HR metrics and reports to provide actionable insights on absence, overtime, and workforce trends.
- Employee Relations
- Advise managers on performance reviews and ensure completion of mandatory PDP processes with clear HR guidance.
- Support and facilitate formal HR meetings, including disciplinary, grievance, absence mediation, capability, and flexible working requests.
- Identify and report patterns or trends in employee relations issues to the Site HR Manager for proactive intervention.
- Escalate appeals and complex cases to the Site HR Manager.
- Liaise with Occupational Health and manage long‑term absence cases.
- Training & Development
- Work jointly with the Site HR Manager to deliver training programs, annual content, and business inductions.
- Payroll & Reward
- Assist the Site HR Manager with accurate monthly payroll submissions and changes.
- Support payroll‑related administration, including overtime and absence reporting.
- Contribute to employee reward and recognition initiatives, including social events and engagement activities.
- HR Projects & Engagement
- Participate in HR structuring projects and employee representative forums.
- Drive initiatives to improve employee engagement and workplace culture.
Qualifications & Skills
- Competent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word platforms
- GCSE English Language or equivalent (C or above) / GCSE Mathematics or equivalent (C or above)
- Solid background working within a generalist HR environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passionate to improve and develop the HR function
- Proven ability to mediate and resolve workplace issues effectively.
- Experience in payroll administration and change processes, with high attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Passion for continuous improvement and personal development.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law
Working Hours
07:30 – 16:15: Monday – Thursday
07:30 – 16:00: Fridays (Every other Friday is a non‑working day)
