Cyber security is no longer only a concern for large organisations. Start -ups and SMEs are facing growing risks, and while many understand its importance, they may not have the internal capacity or confidence to know where to begin.
<\/p>

This role is designed for graduates with a strong foundation in cyber security who want to apply their knowledge in real business settings.

Location:<\/b> Wales -based role with an SME. Working pattern to be confirmed β€” roles may be office -based or hybrid depending on the host business.
<\/div>
Hours:<\/b> Minimum 25 hours per week
<\/div>
Contract length:<\/b> 6 -month graduate placement programme
<\/div>
Salary:<\/b> At least the National Living Wage, with the potential for a higher salary at the discretion of the host business.

About the Opportunity<\/b>
<\/p>

You will work with an SME in Wales to support cyber readiness, staff awareness, basic risk reviews and practical improvement planning.
<\/p>

You will be trained and supported to work as a Graduate Cyber Security Consultant, providing useful support that helps businesses improve their cyber confidence.
<\/p>

This is a strong opportunity to build real experience in cyber security while helping Welsh businesses become more resilient and competitive. You will develop consultancy -style skills, learn how cyber security applies in SME environments and contribute to the digital strength of businesses across Wales.

What You Will Be Doing<\/b>
<\/p>

Depending on the needs of the business you are matched with, you may support work such as:
<\/p>

  • Conducting a basic cyber readiness review
    <\/li>
  • Helping the business understand common cyber risks
    <\/li>
  • Reviewing existing cyber policies, processes and staff guidance
    <\/li>
  • Supporting Cyber Essentials readiness
    <\/li>
  • Creating simple cyber awareness materials for staff
    <\/li>
  • Supporting safer working practices around devices, accounts and data
    <\/li>
  • Helping the business document risks and prioritise practical improvements
    <\/li>
  • Supporting incident reporting processes and escalation guidance
    <\/li><\/ul>

    Who We Are Looking For<\/b>
    <\/p>

    We are looking for recent graduates who already have a solid foundation in cyber security and want to apply it in a practical SME environment.
    <\/p>

    You may be a good fit if you:
    <\/p>

    • Have studied cyber security, computer science, information systems, digital forensics, software engineering, networking or another relevant discipline
      <\/li>
    • Understand common cyber risks facing businesses
      <\/li>
    • Have awareness of areas such as phishing, access control, passwords, MFA, backups, malware protection, software updates and incident reporting
      <\/li>
    • Are interested in helping businesses improve their cyber readiness
      <\/li>
    • Can explain technical risks in clear, simple language
      <\/li>
    • Are confident asking questions and gathering information responsibly
      <\/li>
    • Understand the importance of confidentiality, permission and professional boundaries
      <\/li>
    • Want to build a career in cyber security, risk, compliance, IT security or digital resilience
      <\/li><\/ul>

      The role will help you build real experience in one of the most important areas of the modern economy. You will develop consultancy -style skills, learn how SMEs make decisions and help a business in Wales take practical steps towards becoming more secure, resilient and globally competitive.
