Join Our Team as a Payroll Administrator!

As a Payroll Administrator you will support our clients in the delivery of a successful and smooth payroll process including pension processing and HMRC RTI submission, assisting with year-end processes and various other payroll duties. You will also provide administrative support to the team, maintaining accurate records and support with client and colleague queries.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Preparing and processing weekly, monthly, and bi-weekly payroll using dedicated software
  • Understand and be able to calculate and deduct income tax, National Insurance, pension contributions, and other statutory deductions
  • HMRC RTI submissions
  • Pension processing and auto-enrolments
  • Inputting payroll data into various systems
  • Liaise with HMRC
  • Answer queries from colleagues and clients, in a professional manner
  • CIS submissions
  • General administration tasks such as filing, data entry, assisting in communications and paperwork
  • Maintaining accurate records, ensuring client records are kept up to date
  • Auditing entered payroll data for accuracy and completeness
  • Reporting
  • Carry out year-end processes
  • Immediately report problems that may impact on the organisation or our clients to the Payroll Manager
  • Daily completion of your timesheet

Required Experience

  • CIPP or 2 years’ experience in payroll
  • Knowledge of payroll software, such as SAGE 50
  • Ability to show initiative and work within a team
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work effectively
  • Ability to build good client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at various levels
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload in a timely manner while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectations

Desired Skills

  • Bureau experience is preferred but not essential
  • Accounts production software such as CCH desirable but not essential
