Join Our Team as a Payroll Administrator!
As a Payroll Administrator you will support our clients in the delivery of a successful and smooth payroll process including pension processing and HMRC RTI submission, assisting with year-end processes and various other payroll duties. You will also provide administrative support to the team, maintaining accurate records and support with client and colleague queries.
Role & Responsibilities
- Preparing and processing weekly, monthly, and bi-weekly payroll using dedicated software
- Understand and be able to calculate and deduct income tax, National Insurance, pension contributions, and other statutory deductions
- HMRC RTI submissions
- Pension processing and auto-enrolments
- Inputting payroll data into various systems
- Liaise with HMRC
- Answer queries from colleagues and clients, in a professional manner
- CIS submissions
- General administration tasks such as filing, data entry, assisting in communications and paperwork
- Maintaining accurate records, ensuring client records are kept up to date
- Auditing entered payroll data for accuracy and completeness
- Reporting
- Carry out year-end processes
- Immediately report problems that may impact on the organisation or our clients to the Payroll Manager
- Daily completion of your timesheet
Required Experience
- CIPP or 2 years’ experience in payroll
- Knowledge of payroll software, such as SAGE 50
- Ability to show initiative and work within a team
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work effectively
- Ability to build good client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at various levels
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload in a timely manner while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectations
Desired Skills
- Bureau experience is preferred but not essential
- Accounts production software such as CCH desirable but not essential
