Teacher Assistant (Autism) Position Type: Instructional Support – Non‑Certified Teacher Assistant. 190‑day position for the 2026–2027 school year. Salary: $20,932 based on education and experience. Non‑Exempt FLSA status. Minimum TB test required prior to work. Location: Darlington Area Schools.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 60 academic credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education or an associate degree or higher.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus Ready to Work credentials.
  • WIN Assessment Level 3 certification.
  • ParaPro passing score (minimum 456).
  • Ability to lift a minimum of fifty pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom teaching assistance.
  • Supervise students at all times.
  • Provide daily care as needed (toileting, diapering, feeding, etc.).
  • Adhere to district dress code policies.
  • Maintain required confidentiality regarding students and school records.
  • Support student growth and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
